My kids are sports enthusiasts, and I have spent countless hours watching practices and games. While many coaches have different coaching philosophies, there are some core basics that most coaches focus on: (1) speed and agility; (2) situational awareness; (3) fundamentals of the sport; and (4) game strategy. This book was written to help our spiritual situational awareness and spiritual life strategy. God’s Word helps us to understand who God is, the world around us and probably most applicable for you, the reader, who we are, as part of God’s creation. Over the course of the pages in this book, you will meet individuals in the Bible whom God met where they were. Though they are in the Bible, they are not perfect heroes nor heroes who always obeyed at the first chance. They experienced disappointment, hurt and shame with God. Yet, they were never afraid to proclaim God as their God. He found each of these individuals in their place of need and continued to weave their story towards goodness. I have hopefully chosen examples that apply to all of the different aspects of life: family, health, relationships, careers, ambition, faith, community, insecurity, disappointment, and blessings from the Lord.
